I use newest qBittorrent v4.5.0 with libtorrent v2.0, increased it's RAM usage limit in Advanced settings and running fine on Windows 11 and 700+ torrents.Īvoid qBittorrent with libtorrent v2.0 builds if you use Linux, macOS or if using Windows OS with external drives or if just want low memory usage and faster for most use cases then qBittorrent with libtorrent v1.2 works better and it's not worth using some very old qBittorrent version instead of the newest, because fixes in included dependencies are not mentioned in official qBittorrent News Page. MacOS and Linux users would have had to continue to run some scripts to compile their own qBittorrent with their manually specified libtorrent and Qt versions if there wouldn't had been more official installers made available by the software owner for their OS. Unfortunately previous versions of qBittorrent v4.4+ installers were with libtorrent v2.0 by default and only Windows users had the easy way to pick between various newest qBittorrent setup files, that includes the specific libtorrent or Qt they really need or want.Īlternatively Windows users could download newest qBittorrent from GitHub with various libtorrent versions even before qBittorrent v4.4.0 was officially released. Starting with qBittorrent v4.4.5 there's now choice for MacOS and Linux users to pick either installer with libtorrent v1.2 (RC_1_2) or with libtorrent v2.0 (RC_2_0). There's multiple qBittorrent installers with different libtorrent versions made available long ago. Read official news page and look at official download page.
